An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced planning and analytics professional to join UEA as Associate Director, Planning within our Strategic Programmes & Change (SPC) division. This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of shaping how the University plans for the future and measures its performance.

Following the strategic realignment of our Data Science and Analytics function into SPC, we’re strengthening our approach to evidence‑driven decision‑making. This role will lead that evolution - helping UEA to harness data, forecasting and analytical capability to support Strategy 2030 and drive institutional improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead UEA’s strategic planning and institutional performance frameworks
  • Provide high‑quality analysis, forecasting and modelling for senior leaders
  • Oversee trusted dashboards, management information and analytical products
  • Drive innovation in analytical methods, data science and automation
  • Champion a positive, transparent data culture across the University
  • Lead and develop the Data Science and Analytics function

About You

You’ll bring strong technical expertise in analytics, forecasting or data science, along with the confidence to translate complex information into impactful strategic advice. You’ll be an experienced people leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at senior levels. A collaborative approach, service mindset and commitment to continuous improvement are essential. Experience in higher education is welcome but not essential.

This full-time post is available from 16 March 2026 on an indefinite basis.
