Salary on appointment will be £48,822 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum (pro rata).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of Social Work to undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile which compliments existing research strengths, producing high quality proposals to secure external research funding and disseminate results through academic publications and conferences. Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise PhD students.
You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience, with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment. A strong publication record, with experience of successful grant income is also essential as is a qualification in Social Work or a qualification in an allied helping profession. An ability to provide academic leadership and supervise PhD students would be advantageous.
This part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available from 2 February 2026 on an indefinite basis.
