Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Starting salary from £48,822 per annum dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum. 


We are seeking an experienced and credible Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to join our welcoming Organisational Development Service. Shaping and leading our EDI agenda, you will play a key role in fostering a values-led culture and an inclusive environment for our diverse community.

Working collaboratively within the People & Culture Division you will lead the development and delivery of our EDI strategy, ensuring alignment with our institutional People Strategy. 

Drawing on your knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks, in particular the Equality Act 2010 and the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act 2023, you will lead, develop and motivate the EDI team, ensuring effective delivery of projects, programmes and statutory compliance. You will provide strategic leadership for the University’s EDI strategy, translating it into clear, actionable plans and using data, insight and evidence to identify challenges, drive progress and measure impact. 

You will build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organisation, adopting a collaborative and solution-focused approach with the confidence to sensitively navigate complex issues and balance conflicting demands and obligations. 

Experience within the UK Higher Education sector is advantageous but not essential. 

This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
