Lecturer A or B in Energy Engineering

Salary on Lecturer A (grade 7) will be £38,784 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum.
Salary on Lecturer B (grade 8) will be £48,822 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics at UEA. Are you a high-calibre, research-excellent individual? Do you work in sensors, data, diagnostics and/or smart materials with renewable energy or circular economy applications? Are you able to develop engaging teaching materials in energy engineering and sustainability? Can you support growth in student numbers through advocacy for engineering and UEA?
You will receive support to develop your research profile, producing high quality proposals to secure external research funding and disseminate results through academic publications and conferences. You will be encouraged to work with local business to develop consultancy and research impact. Teaching is a key part of this role and you will be mentored to deliver at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to supervise PhD students.
You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment. You will have a track record, appropriate to experience, of high quality publications and have produced research which has the potential to have an impact beyond academia. Evidence of grant applications (successful, for Lecturer B), is also essential. An ability to provide academic leadership and supervise PhD students would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 20 April 2026 on an indefinite basis.
One appointment will be considered at either Lecturer A (grade 7) or Lecturer B (grade 8) dependent on skills and experience.
