NIHR and Locally Funded Clinical Lecturers in GP, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Rheumatology or General Surgery

Appointment salary level will be based on the appointee's existing salary within the NHS.
Salary for doctors who have not yet completed specialist training will be £36,616 to £70,425 per annum (pro rata for part-time), in accordance with the national salary pay scale.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for up to three Clinical Lecturers to join Norwich Medical School and undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing supervision to PhD students.
These posts are only open to medically qualified doctors who also have a postgraduate degree, either a PhD or an MD (Res) (or equivalent). Two posts are funded by the NIHR and another is locally funded (but in terms of experience and opportunity it is the same as the NIHR posts). You will need to hold an NTN in your specialty and be able to start in post by 1 August 2025 at the latest. For the GP post, this can be post CCT as per NIHR guidance and the salary will be in the according scale.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile which compliments existing research strengths, seeking national and international recognition. You will develop proposals to secure external funding and disseminate results through academic publications and conferences.
A PhD or MD (Res) (or equivalent) is essential for these posts.

You will have a track record, appropriate to experience, of high-quality publications and have produced research which has the potential to have an impact beyond academia. Experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects and evidence of successful applications for external grant income would be advantageous.
These full-time posts are available from 1 March 2025, and before 1 August 2025 at the latest, for a fixed term of up to 4 years (two of the years can be post CCT).
