Research Associate

Salary on appointment will be £30,805 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £37,174 per annum (pro rata).
An opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate join the School of Global Development to explore issues of human mobility under conditions of environmental change.
The role will support the project to develop an innovative modelling approach that integrates traditional catastrophe models with advanced techniques aimed at analysing the long-term impacts of climate and disaster-related shocks on dynamics of displacement.
You will have a graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience and be able to work independently and under limited supervision. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced coding (Python, R and Linux) and visualisation skills (through QGIS and Arcmap) are essential.
This part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available from 28 July 2025 on a fixed-term basis until 25 August 2026.
