Student Learning Mentor

Salary on appointment will be £23,581 per annum with an annual increment up to £25,483 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Learning Mentor to join the Outreach team.
You’ll develop a personalised and supportive relationship with a group of year 9 through to year 13 students in Norfolk-based schools who are from less advantaged backgrounds.
Key duties of the role include:
- Developing one-to-one mentoring relationships with students, meeting them on a regular basis to discuss progress according to termly objectives.
- Setting realistic targets and implementing strategies that reflect student abilities, strengths and stretch goals with the objective of building skills to raise student attainment.
You will have an awareness of national 14-19 educational issues, experience of mentoring and working with young people, and be educated to Level 3 (or hold equivalent experience in a similar role).
This full-time post is available from 6 January 2025 on an indefinite basis.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
