About the Role:

Project Manager – Strategic Change
Ref: ALC1662

Starting salary from £38,784 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum.

The University of East Anglia is seeking a Project Manager — Strategic Change to join our Strategic Programmes and Change division. This is an opportunity to play a key role in progressing strategic change projects that support delivery of Strategy 2030.

You will work closely with senior leaders, sponsors and colleagues across the University. You will help shape, plan and deliver projects from early discovery through to implementation and closure. You will also support activity where the scope is still emerging, helping to clarify outcomes, benefits, risks, dependencies and next steps.

This is a hands-on project management role. Alongside core project planning and delivery, you will draft and shape the documents needed to move work forward. This may include briefing notes, terms of reference, options papers, decision papers, draft guidance, communications and implementation materials.

We are looking for someone with experience of managing multiple projects or workstreams. You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and able to build positive relationships across different teams, priorities and perspectives. You will be able to bring structure to complexity, while tailoring your approach to the scale, risk and people impact of the work.

A degree and/or equivalent experience in a comparable role is essential. A project or programme management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ or MSP, would be an advantage. Experience of project delivery in higher education, strategic planning, operating model change, or service or process redesign would also be beneficial.

This full-time post is available from 14 September 2026 on an indefinite basis.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.

Benefits include:

  • 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and University Customary days (pro rata for part-time).
  • Family and Work-life balance policies including hybrid working and considerable maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and adoption leave.
  • Generous pension scheme with life cover for dependants, plus incapacity cover.
  • Health and Wellbeing: discounted access to Sportspark facilities, relaxation rooms, 320 acres of rolling parkland, wellbeing walks, Wellbeing Ambassador network, on-campus medical centre including NHS Dentist, Occupational Health and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Campus Facilities: Sportspark, library, nursery, supermarket, post office, bars and catering outlets.
  • Exclusive shopping discounts to help cut the cost of household bills, childcare salary sacrifice scheme, Cycle to Work scheme and public transport discounts.
