Starting salary from £26,707 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £30,378 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pensions Administrator to join the Pensions Team to assist the Pensions Manager in providing excellent customer service in pensions delivery.
You will undertake the reconciliation of payments made on behalf of scheme members, ensuring that correct pension contributions are deducted across a number of pension schemes of varying size and complexity. Working with the Pensions Manager, you will assist with the calculation and payment of retirement benefits, consulting with the Scheme Actuary where required. You will also support the administration of Auto Enrolment, ensuring statutory communications are issued at the appropriate times, and assist with pensions awareness activity within the University.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to process improvements, work closely with the Payroll team and wider Finance colleagues, and support key annual pensions activities and reporting. Training routes, may be available for candidates who wish to pursue formal qualifications.
Key duties of the role include:
- Extensive use of Excel spreadsheets in support of monthly reconciliation resulting in the production of the monthly scheme files.
- Maintaining membership records of all Pension schemes.
- Processing defined benefit pension scheme.
- Calculation and payment of retirement benefits in consultation with Scheme Actuary where necessary.
- Completing online returns.
- Ensuring efficient and timely responses to routine pension queries.
- Producing pension quotes accurately and in a timely manner.
- One to one meetings with all levels of staff concerning the intricacies of all pension schemes.
You will have:
- A good standard of education with GCSEs at grade C or above including Mathematics and English (or equivalent qualifications).
- Previous experience of working in a Pensions environment.
- Good working knowledge of Excel to advanced level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff at all levels.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
