INTO Security Officers

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two INTO Security Officers to join the Security Department.
You’ll deliver an excellent overnight Security Service, providing information and advice or referring on as appropriate.
You will have SIA Parts 1 and 2 exams/AUCSO HE Security Officer’s Basic Job Training qualification or equivalent and experience working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
You will need excellent customer care skills and be able to demonstrate the core values of the University. The ability to remain calm and professional and be sensitive to the needs and views of others is essential.
These part time (0.57 FTE) posts are available from 30 April 2026 on a fixed term basis for 12 months. You will be working an average of 24 hours per week, which is 7:00pm to 7:00am for 2 nights per 8-day rotation (i.e. 2 nights on, 6 nights off).
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
