Starting salary from £38,784 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and collaborative Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Culture Division. You will play a key role in delivering a high quality HR partnering service across the University, supporting leaders to build an engaged, inclusive and high performing workforce.

The Human Resources Business Partner will develop strong, professional relationships with your designated client areas, gaining a clear understanding of their priorities to ensure operational HR support is aligned and effective. As a trusted adviser, you will provide consistent, timely and robust guidance on a full range of people matters, ensuring compliance with employment law, HR policy and best practice.

A significant part of the role involves supporting managers with employee relations casework, performance management, wellbeing and attendance, organisational change and workforce planning. You will work closely with Senior HR Business Partners and colleagues across People and Culture to support with the delivery of operational and strategic initiatives, drive cultural improvement and support the University’s People and Culture delivery plan and its associated strategy.

The role involves supporting managers with employee relations casework, performance management, wellbeing and attendance, organisational change and workforce planning. You will analyse workforce data, contribute to HR projects, deliver HR training, undertake job evaluations, and support reward, recognition and EDI initiatives. Collaboration across the People and Culture team is essential, as is contributing to the implementation of the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan. The role also includes deputising for Senior HR Business Partners when required.

Essential requirements include CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), strong generalist HR knowledge, significant employee relations experience, involvement in HR projects and organisational change, and experience in job evaluation (ideally HERA). Desirable experience would include understanding the Higher Education sector.
 
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
