Catering and Hospitality Supervisor

Salary on appointment will be £24,685 per annum with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum.
The Campus Kitchen is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Catering and Hospitality Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of the Modern Life Café, a busy, design-led space serving a varied and discerning public.
This is a highly hands-on role. Working closely with and supporting the Manager, you will help oversee daily operations while actively serving on the counter, preparing and serving drinks, clearing tables, washing up, and assisting with basic food preparation. You will step in wherever needed to keep service running smoothly, particularly during busy periods, functions and events.
You will support front-of-house service delivery, help coordinate functions and fine-dining events, and assist in supervising a small team, leading by example through practical involvement. Working alongside the team, you will adapt quickly to changing demands to ensure a consistently high standard of service and presentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Manager in daily café operations
- Serving customers, preparing drinks and assisting with food prep
- Clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness and washing up
- Supporting functions and events across campus, including setup and service
- Assisting with stock control, food safety and presentation standards
- Helping to train and support front-of-house staff
- Deputising for the Manager in their absence
About you:
- Experience in a food and beverage or hospitality setting
- Enjoys hands-on work and supporting a team on the floor
- Calm, organised and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Takes pride in high standards of service and customer care
- The role includes weekends and some evenings on a 5-days-out-of-7 rota.
