UEA Catering Services – The Campus Kitchen
Catering and Hospitality Supervisor
Ref: GG720
Salary on appointment will be £24,685 per annum with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum.
The Campus Kitchen is seeking an organised and self-motivated Catering and Hospitality Supervisor to take responsibility for the daily operation of the University’s delivered hospitality and events service within the Catering Department.
This is a highly practical, logistics-focused role requiring regular driving of University vans across campus, the transport, lifting and handling of equipment, and the timely delivery, set-up, presentation and breakdown of catering across multiple venues.
You will coordinate conferences, functions, fine-dining and hospitality events, ensuring a consistently high standard of service, display and customer experience from arrival through to collection after the event.
Supervising a small team, you will lead by example in a fast-paced, environment, motivating and developing staff to deliver excellent service under pressure. You will manage daily logistics, stock control, equipment movement, food safety, health and safety, and presentation, while responding professionally to last-minute changes, additional requests and tight turnaround times.
The role requires someone who is able to work independently and reliably. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role is as much service-orientated and customer-facing as it is operational and logistical.
Previous experience in a food and beverage or hospitality environment is essential. A full, clean driving licence is required, as regular van driving around campus forms a core part of the role.
The position includes evening and weekend work, operating on a 5-days-out-of-7 rota.
If you meet the essential criteria and are interested in contributing to delivering an outstanding catering and hospitality service—we would be delighted to hear from you.
Reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.
