Ref: SC4930
Salary on appointment will be £25,249 per annum, with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum
These roles are ONLY open to current UEA students undertaking a placement year in the 2026-27 academic year
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Recruitment, Outreach and Events (ROE) team, working on everything from on-campus residential events through to primary school campus visits.
Working across all teams in ROE, you will travel to schools both locally and nationally to promote Higher Education and UEA; contribute to the success of on-campus events; and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences, both in-person and online.
Please note this role is a hybrid post which will involve some home working alongside time on campus and travel to schools and colleges. Due to the nature of these activities, there will be some unsociable hours and possible overnight stays.
You will work as part of a team, have a positive and flexible approach to work, and excellent communication skills. You will have the ability to work autonomously, and be self-motivated with a strong enthusiasm for working with young people. Previous experience as a Student Ambassador would be advantageous, but is not essential.
This role would benefit current UEA students undertaking a placement year in the 2026-27 academic year looking to develop experience in Widening Participation, Student Recruitment, Events Management, or Project Management, alongside careers working with young people in schools & colleges, charities, or third-party organisations.
In this role, you will:
- Gain experience working with diverse audiences including prospective students, young people, mature students, teachers and advisers, parents and carers, and other external and internal stakeholders.
- Gain experience working in a professional office environment and developing core administration skills.
- Develop your skills and confidence delivering presentations to large audiences.
A full and valid UK driving licence will be required, as this role does require the ability to travel both in Norfolk and nationally. You will be using UEA fleet cars and will be provided with full car familiarisation and supported by your line manager to build your confidence driving. Reasonable adjustments will be made in line with the Equality Act 2010.
You will receive a comprehensive induction programme and tailored training opportunities.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
These full-time posts are available from 1 September 2026 on a fixed term basis for 1 year.
Benefits include:
- 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and University Customary days.
