Research Laboratory Technician

Starting salary from £24,685 per annum, with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum.

Our Faculty of Science hosts state-of-the-art laboratories that support cutting-edge research. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Research Laboratory Technician to join our technical services team within the Faculty of Science.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality technical support to academic and research staff based in the School of Biological Sciences. The role will focus on maintaining laboratory facilities to a professional standard, and assist with the delivery of safe and efficient laboratory services. This varied role involves supporting research, maintaining equipment, managing stocks, ensuring health and safety compliance and providing day-to-day support to staff and students.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a multi-user biological research laboratory who is keen to contribute to a vibrant research environment and further develop their technical support skills.
You will hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths, English and Science (preferably Biology) with proven experience in a multi-user biological research laboratory. You will have a strong understanding of laboratory safety and good practice, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Organised and accurate with good IT and record-keeping skills, you will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail and the ability work independently and as part of a team. This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis and will be campus based.
