Lecturer in Consultation Skills

Starting salary from £48,822 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the Norwich Medical School to be involved the leadership, coordination, management and substantial delivery of clinical communication skills teaching for undergraduate medicine. In particular, you will take a key role within our Consultation Skills team, shaping and delivering the new Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) Consultation Skills curriculum. The role will also involve carrying out teaching related duties and formal administrative work within the School, including assessments. You will carry out research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and plan and would suit a person with a social science, psychology or health professions background.
Your role will be expected to build on or develop a research profile in areas related to healthcare communication and/or behavioural science in medical education.
You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area or equivalent (or within 6 months of completion), with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment. The role will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, including PhD students, and as a Student Adviser.
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
