Salary on appointment will be £26,707 per annum, with an annual increment up to £30,378 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civic and Public Affairs Administrator to provide support to these important areas of work for the university.
The Civic and Public Affairs Administrator will work closely with the Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor Civic, the Civic Executive Officer, the Head of Public Affairs to provide flexible and high-quality administrative support. Key responsibilities include managing diaries, organising meetings and events, preparing reports and documents, monitoring financial processes and maintaining oversight of stakeholder engagement activities. You will also act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including academics, parliamentary staff and regional organisations, ensuring enquiries are handled effectively and directed to the appropriate person.
You should be educated to A-level standard with five GCSEs at grades A–C (including English and Mathematics) or have equivalent qualifications or experience. Recent administrative experience, strong organisational skills, confidence with IT systems and financial processes, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are all essential. Experience of event organisation, supporting projects and taking minutes at senior meetings is also required. Familiarity with procurement and CRM systems, experience in higher education, business or local government, and some understanding of politics or the civic university agenda would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 10 November 2025 on a fixed-term basis for 2 years.
