Access and Security Officer (Library) (Part-time 0.5714 FTE, 24 hours per week, fixed term until 1 April 2026)

Salary on appointment will be £28,600 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £30,231 per annum (pro rata).
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UEA Security team at the University Library Reception.
Key duties of the role include assisting to provide an excellent 24/7 front of house reception service providing information and advice or referring on as appropriate.
You will have substantial recent experience of working in a similar security environment and experience working with a diverse range of backgrounds.
You will need excellent customer care skills and will be able to act in accordance with the University’s Values, in all aspects of work. The ability to remain calm and professional and be sensitive to the needs and views of others is essential.
This part-time (0.5714 FTE, 24 hours per week) post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 1 April 2026.
You will work a rolling shift pattern providing weekend cover: 2 days (Sat/Sun) followed by 2 nights (Fri/Sat) each 12 hour shifts, 24 hours per week.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
