About the Role:

School of Psychology
Faculty of Social Sciences

Senior Research Associate
Ref: RA2312

Starting salary from £38,249 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £45,413 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join the School of Psychology at UEA to conduct studies in the field of the cognitive neuroscience of memory.

The project, funded by an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) grant led by Dr Louis Renoult, involves a programme of experimental work with the aim to reach a better understanding of how semantic and episodic memory differ in their representational content, in related subjective experience, and in neural substrates in young and older adults. Using a variety of behavioural, fMRI and EEG tasks, it is hoped that this research project will help break new ground in our understanding of these fundamental aspects of cognition.

You will be responsible for coordinating data collection, designing in person and on-line experiments, analysing the data, and contributing to dissemination and impact activities.

You will hold a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or equivalent discipline, and have experience of the acquisition and analysis of experimental data. You will have research experience with fMRI and related analyses, and experience writing papers for academic journals, and be able to satisfy all the essential criteria detailed in the person specification for this post.

This post is available from 8 of September 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a full-time basis for a fixed-term period until 7 September 2028.
