Salary on appointment will be £38,249 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £45,413 per annum (pro rata)
For candidates who are medically qualified, salary from £49,909 per annum (pro rata) (clinical academics in training scale, nodal point 3), dependent on stage of medical training
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Teaching Fellow to join Norwich Medical School. The role provides an exciting opportunity to gain a highly desirable post graduate qualification (PG Cert) and experience in the development and provision of medical education. This post would be suitable for candidates who have a passion for education and wish to develop their teaching skills, providing a solid foundation for a career in clinical healthcare education.
The role will support the MBBS clinical skills teaching and assessment and clinical course development and is ideally suited to a recently graduated Resident Doctor who is at least 2 years post-graduation. The role will contribute to clinical teaching, training and mentoring of medical students; including theoretical classroom work, clinical skills sessions and assessments and preparing students for life as a foundation doctor.
The role will supervise students’ direct interaction with patients (this element will be reliant on an existing NHS or Honorary contract within Primary or Secondary care, already held or arranged within the remaining 0.5 FTE); and support the development of curriculum and its modes of delivery including the growth and development of simulation-based training.
This part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available from 1 August 2025 on a fixed term basis for 1 year with the possibility of extension. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Standard level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
