Salary on appointment will be £35,770 per annum, with an annual increment up to £37,622 per annum.
This is an exciting time to be joining the UEA Security team with the extensive growth and development in the Directorate currently.
This role will see you undertaking foot and vehicle patrols, providing a reassuring presence in deterring crime and anti-social behaviour, providing information to staff, students and visitors, assisting with traffic management and responding to security and other incidents.
With a strong Customer focus, you will provide and maintain a safe, secure and sustainable environment for staff, students and visitors to the UEA 24 hours a day throughout the year. You will protect the buildings and property of the UEA and the welfare and property of Staff, Students and Visitors. You will be the first responder for incidents and will liaise with emergency services as required.
You will have substantial recent experience of working in a similar security environment and be educated to GCSE Grade C level or equivalent in Maths and English. You will need excellent communication and customer care skills and be able to promote the core values of the University. The ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances and to be sensitive to the needs and views of other is essential.
This full-time role is available from 3 January 2025 on an indefinite basis. You will be expected to work a four on, four off 12-hour rotational shift pattern that includes days and nights.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
