Research Administrator

Salary on appointment will be £26,707 per annum, with an annual increment up to £30,378 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research and Innovation Service for a Research Administrator to provide pre-award and post-award support for a range of research and innovation activities. You will be part of a team including Research Officers, Research Administrators, Administrative Assistants and Research Finance Administrators, who support a given number of Schools, with the help of a range of specialist managers.
You will be part of a team supporting research in the Faculty of Science and predominantly working with academics and researchers in the School of Biological Sciences. You will be expected to be mindful of the University's research strategy, and the University's and funder's policies and requirements underpinning research activity.
You will have Two A-levels at grades A-E and five GCSEs at grades A-C (inc. Maths and English), or equivalent qualifications or experience. Proven recent experience of working in a busy clerical or administrative role and an ability to establish rapport, form good working relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally. You will be able to meet all the essential criteria as detailed in the candidate brochure.
This full-time post is available from 18 January 2027 for fixed-term period of 12 months as maternity cover.
