Ref: SC5052
Starting salary from £31,236 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £37,694 per annum (pro rata).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Coordinator (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) to join the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team within the People and Culture Division. The role will support the development, implementation and evaluation of the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, with a primary focus on staff experience, organisational culture, policy implementation and workforce equality.
Key duties of the role include leading defined workstreams across institutional EDI programmes and action plans; analysing workforce equality data and producing reports, briefings and recommendations; supporting the development and implementation of policies, guidance and Equality Impact Assessments; and providing specialist advice on equality legislation and inclusive practice. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues, staff equality networks, trade union representatives and other stakeholders, and design and deliver workshops, resources and engagement activities that support inclusive leadership and organisational change.
You will have a relevant qualification, degree or equivalent professional knowledge and experience gained through working in a related role, together with evidence of continuing professional development. You will have experience of delivering EDI initiatives, organisational change activity or people-related programmes within a complex organisation, and sound knowledge of relevant equality legislation and policy frameworks. You will also be able to analyse quantitative and qualitative data, communicate findings clearly to varied audiences, facilitate workshops and engagement activities, and develop effective guidance and resources. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion are essential.
Experience of working in Higher Education, the public sector or a similarly complex organisation would be advantageous, as would experience of supporting equality action plans or accreditation frameworks, policy reviews, consultation exercises, Equality Impact Assessments, workforce data analysis, staff networks or culture-change programmes.
