Salary on appointment will be £31,236 per annum with an annual increment up to £37,694 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UEA Security Team as we continue to grow and develop the services we provide across the University and our third-party client portfolio. 

This role will see you leading on security compliance, operational standards and service delivery for third-party clients, ensuring that agreed Service Level Agreements, policies and legislative requirements are met. You will oversee the development and review of training, Standard Operating Procedures, risk assessments and Key Performance Indicators, whilst working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 

With a strong customer focus, you will provide and maintain a safe, secure and professional service for our clients and the wider University community. You will support Business Continuity, Risk Management and Crisis Management arrangements, undertake investigations where required and liaise with emergency services and external agencies as necessary. 

You will have substantial recent experience of working in a security management or compliance environment and be educated to GCSE Grade C level or equivalent in Maths and English. You will need excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, together with a sound understanding of compliance, health and safety and security best practice.

The ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances, manage competing priorities and build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. 

You will normally work 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some flexibility will be required to support the Security Service and attend meetings or incidents outside normal working hours when necessary. 

This full-time post is available immediately on an indefinite basis. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child and Vulnerable Adult Barred Lists. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or vulnerable adults.

This role also requires a background screening check through our chosen provider BardWood. Full guidance will be given to candidates as they go through the selection process.
