Lecturer in Speech and Language Therapy

Starting salary from £48,822 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum (pro rata).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer with expertise in paediatric Speech and Language Therapy to join the School of Health Sciences.
The post will contribute teaching and assessment to the BSc in Speech and Language Therapy and to the wider School where required, primarily but not exclusively in content relevant to paediatric speech, language, and communication needs and evidence-based practice. You will serve as an in-house practice educator through our community clinic during placement windows.
You will take responsibility for the organisation, delivery, and assessment of modules within the programme, developing teaching and learning materials. You will also supervise dissertations, serve as a student adviser, support student recruitment, and undertake appropriate administrative duties within the School.
You will have a first degree (or equivalent) and hold a Masters or higher level academic qualification in a relevant subject area, along with current registration as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Health & Care Professions Council and membership of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists. You will have extensive post-qualifying experience in paediatric speech and language therapy and evidence of delivering high-quality education in Higher Education and/or clinical practice. Knowledge of paediatric dysphagia is essential.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available immediately on an indefinite basis, with the University term-time working pattern necessarily including Wednesdays, Thursdays, and either Mondays or Tuesdays. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
