Salary on appointment will be £26,707 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £30,378 per annum (pro rata).
UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician to assist in the research under the supervision of Dr Alper Akay to work on C. elegans genetics and RNA biology.
Key duties of the role include preparing C. elegans media, C. elegans culture, genetic crosses, genotyping with PCR and sequencing, RNA extraction and RNA quality control.
You will have an undergraduate or graduate degree with demonstrable hands-on experience working with C. elegans, preparing media, using autoclave, primer design, genotyping using PCR and Sanger sequencing, RNA extraction and RNA quality control.
This part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2027.
