Project Administrative Assistant
Ref: SC4995

Starting salary from £25,249 per annum (pro rata), dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum (pro rata)

Are you a highly organised administrator who thrives on variety, collaboration and making things happen? We’re looking for a proactive Project Administrative Assistant to play a key role in supporting high‑profile people‑focused projects across our HR Business Partnering and Employee Wellbeing teams.

In this busy and rewarding role, you’ll be at the heart of project delivery – coordinating activity, maintaining accurate project information, supporting meetings and communications, and acting as a trusted first point of contact for routine project enquiries. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders across the University, handling sensitive information with professionalism, discretion and care.

We’re seeking someone with strong administrative and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and confidence using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). You’ll bring a flexible, solution‑focused mindset, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a calm, professional approach in a fast‑moving environment. Experience of coordinating administration for projects is essential – and working within HR or a similar setting – would be an advantage.

If you enjoy being part of a collaborative team, take pride in delivering high‑quality work, and want to contribute to meaningful projects that support colleagues and organisational change, we’d love to hear from you.

This part-time (0.7 FTE/25.375 hours per week) post is available on an indefinite basis.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.

Benefits include:
  • 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and University Customary days (pro rata for part-time).
  • Family and Work-life balance policies including hybrid working and considerable maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and adoption leave.
  • Generous pension scheme with life cover for dependants, plus incapacity cover.
  • Health and Wellbeing: discounted access to Sportspark facilities, relaxation rooms, 320 acres of rolling parkland, wellbeing walks, Wellbeing Ambassador network, on-campus medical centre including NHS Dentist, Occupational Health and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Campus Facilities: Sportspark, library, nursery, supermarket, post office, bars and catering outlets.
  • Exclusive shopping discounts to help cut the cost of household bills, childcare salary sacrifice scheme, Cycle to Work scheme and public transport discounts.
  • Personal Development: unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning courses, specialist advice and training from our Organisational Development and Professional Learning Team.
