Clinical Associate Professor in Medical Education

Salary will be in accordance with the applicable clinical academic salary scale for Clinical Associate Professor appointments, and dependent on skills and experience.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) to join Norwich Medical School to lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Work Based Assessment across the MB BS Medicine degree.
You will work closely with MB BS Medicine Course Director, Assessment Director and Head of Medical Education to ensure clear alignment to GMC MLA.
You will also be responsible for the line management of four Clinical Teaching Fellows. Alongside WBA, you will have a strategic leadership role in Transnational Education (TNE).
As a result, we are looking for a GMC registered clinician with experience and expertise in undergraduate education, work-based assessment and TNE. You will also be expected to plan, teach and assess appropriate topics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise PhD students.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile, which compliments existing research strengths, producing high quality proposals to secure external research funding and disseminating results through academic publications and conferences. Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and mentor junior colleagues.
You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area (or complete with 6 months of commencing appointment) with experience of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Experience in line management and PhD supervision is key. Experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects and marketing Higher Education courses would be advantageous.
This part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available from 1 August 2026 on an indefinite basis.
