Salary on appointment will be £24,685 per annum, with an annual increment up to £26,093 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Gallery Security Assistant to join the Visitor Operations team at the Sainsbury Centre, a world class art museum with a unique perspective on how art can foster cultural dialogue and exchange.
This security based position with a strong front facing customer focus, is critical in ensuring a safe, secure and sustainable environment for staff, students and visitors to the Sainsbury Centre. You will protect the building, sculptures, artworks and objects of the Sainsbury Collection, and the welfare and property of Staff, Students and Visitors. The Gallery Security Assistant team also play an important front facing role for visitors and staff, providing information, assistance and high levels of customer service to ensure the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences.
Working as part of a small team, in a varied and active role, key duties include opening and securing the building at the start and end of each day, including the setting of all security and alarm systems. Providing information and assistance to visitors, staff and other building users, including first aid and security response. Supporting setting-up for events and other activities in the building. Providing day-to-day security and protection of the building and exhibits, including monitoring/responding to CCTV and alarm systems. Working to and monitoring our standard operating procedures.
You will have 3 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification or experience) along with experience of working in a similar security role and knowledge of computerised security systems and CCTV. Proven interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach are essential attributes.
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
You must be prepared to work a rotational shift pattern (as agreed in advance) across our 7-day operations, including weekend, evening hours, on call, and across bank holidays and UEA customary days. You will also provide out of hours call out cover on a rostered basis. As such, you must be able to arrive at the Sainsbury Centre and respond to out of hours emergencies and/or call outs within 30 minutes of notification. A full driving licence is required, as for safety and security purposes, use of own vehicle is a requirement during opening and closing procedures, and when responding to out of hours emergencies and/or call outs.
