Media Preparation Technician (Fruit Flies) (0.4 FTE)

A Media Preparation Technician is needed to assist in the delivery of the fruit fly research group at UEA, under the supervision of Professor Tracey Chapman.
The emphasis of the research of this group is to deliver measures of reproductive success in large-scale fly experiments. The projects maintain large numbers of lines and use a significant quantity of fly media. Hence, a dedicated 0.4 FTE specialised media preparation technician is essential for the delivery of the research of this group. Success depends upon the preparation of consistent and high-quality food media and this role is core to the success of the whole programme.
You will undertake fruit fly media preparation to assist with large-scale life history tests on fruit flies. You will also assist in the maintenance of the dedicated fruit fly media preparation facility and undertake culture disposal.
This part-time 0.4 FTE post is available from 1 February 2026 until 31 July 2028.
