Assistant Laboratory Technician (Central Support Services) (Part-Time, 0.4 FTE)

Salary on appointment will be £23,881 per annum (pro rata).


Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Laboratory Technician (Central Support Services) to provide efficient, high quality and pro-active general support for the requirements of all aspects of research and general activities within the Faculty of Science.

Following protocols you will:
  • Complete washing up of specialist laboratory items.
  • Collect hazardous waste, including autoclaving and disposal.
  • Identify storage requirements of items.
  • Have an understanding and awareness of COSHH, Risk Assessments and safety practices.

You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent qualification) at grade A – C including Mathematics, Science and English and previous experience in a customer focussed / service provision role. Good housekeeping skills will also be essential for this post. Full details of the role can be found in the Candidate Brochure. 

This on-site part-time (0.4 FTE) post will be working 7.25 hours on Thursdays and Fridays each week working 7:00am - 15:00pm and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months.
