Senior Research Associate

Salary on appointment will be £38,249 per annum, with an annual increment up to £45,413 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join the School of Computing Science to conduct research on a pioneering project exploring the technical, societal, legal and policy implications of artificial intelligence (AI) in Higher Education and work force development.

As a Senior Research Associate you will need expertise in software and web development to design, analyse, and prototype an Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy synthesis system informed by user needs and inputs. This interdisciplinary role bridges technical development and social science research, contributing to the creation of responsible, user-centred AI tools and policy solutions.

You will have an advanced degree (e.g., MSc with prior research experience, PhD or near completion (within 6 months of appointment) in a computational field such as Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or Computational Social Science, or equivalent professional experience. 
You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly relating to this research area would be advantageous.  

This full-time post is available on a fixed term basis for up to six months.
