Salary on appointment will be £26,338 per annum, with an annual increment up to £29,959 per annum.
UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician to assist in the research under the supervision of Professor Tracey Chapman to work on social ageing in fruit flies.
The aim of the project is to understand the effects of the social environment on ageing, using the fruit fly as a model system.
Key duties of the role include conducting experiments with fruit flies under the supervision of a post doctoral fellow, culturing fruit flies and maintaining the fruit fly research facility.
You will have a degree or equivalent in biological sciences, working knowledge of fruit fly research, genetics and quantitative analyses, and experience or working with fruit flies in large-scale behavioural and life history experiments.
This full-time post is available on a fixed term basis until 29 August 2025.
