Security Department

Access and Security Officers (Library) (Fixed term for 6 months, part-time 24 hours per week)

Salary on appointment will be £26,278 per annum pro rata, with an annual increment up to £28,424 per annum pro rata. 

Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join the UEA Security team at the University Library Reception.

Key duties of the role include assisting to provide an excellent 24/7 front of house reception service providing information and advice or referring on as appropriate.

You will have substantial recent experience of working in a similar security environment and experience working with a diverse range of backgrounds.

You will need excellent customer care skills and be able to promote the core values of the University. The ability to remain calm and professional and be sensitive to the needs and views of others is essential.

These part-time (0.5714 FTE, 24 hours per week) posts are available immediately on a fixed term basis for 6 months.

You will be expected to 2 x 12-hour day shifts (Saturdays and Sundays) then 2 x 12-hour night shifts (Fridays and Saturdays) on a rotational shift pattern.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
