Are you passionate about supporting talented athletes in Higher Education and the use of sport as a recruitment tool?

If the answer to that question is yes, then we’d love to hear from you – an exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and confident coordinator to support the performance/focus sport and scholarship programmes at the University of East Anglia (UEA).

You will lead on the delivery and development of the UEA’s performance/focus sport programme, coordinating a number of UEA sports clubs including, but not limited to, Men's and Women's Basketball, Netball, Men's and Women's Rugby and supporting the Men’s and Women’s Football clubs.

You will work collaboratively with the respective sport head coaches to provide an excellent sporting experience for students from participation to performance in the focus sport clubs and will also assist the Student Performance Sport Manager in coordinating the UEA Individual Sport Scholarship programme.

Alongside this, you will also be responsible for developing and delivering an effective recruitment strategy utilising the power of sport and physical activity to recruit students to the UEA. This will involve working with internal UEA departments, external post-16 education providers and local sports organisations.

You will hold a degree in a sports related field or equivalent qualification and/or have experience in the higher education sport sector in a directly transferable role. You will have experience of working in a sport development-related role and experience of working in a talent and/or performance sport environment.

You will be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with a range of partners/stakeholders and have excellent organisation and administration skills. The ability to manage a varied workload in a high paced environment is also essential.

This full-time (40 hours per week) post is offered on an initial 2-year fixed term basis and is available from 1 August 2024. There is an expectation of flexibility to meet the demands of the role across peak periods.
